Trajectory

Compare your startup journey

When you start the game, you can opt in to benchmarking. At the end, you'll see how your choices and outcomes compare to other players at your level. Educators can also set up class sessions for group-level insights.

How it works

1
Players opt in at the start of the game

Choose to benchmark yourself, pick your level and a nickname. If your educator gave you a join code, enter it here too. Or just skip this and play without benchmarking — it's entirely optional.

2
Play the game as normal

Nothing changes about gameplay. Your choices and outcomes are recorded anonymously in the background.

3
See your trajectory at the end

When the game ends, you'll see how your choices (founder type, sector, location, funding path) and outcomes (milestones, funding, valuation, equity) compare to all other players at your level.

For educators

Create a class session below to get a 6-character join code. Share it with your students — they enter it when they start the game. You can then come back here to see how your class did as a group, what choices were most popular, and how your class compares to other classes at the same level.

Set up takes under a minute. No accounts, no software, no personal data collected.

Not an account — just so you can find your sessions later.

You'll need this to view your class results. Keep it simple — this isn't a bank.

🔒 Anonymous by design — not a research project.

For students: You only ever enter a nickname — no real names, emails or accounts. Benchmarking is entirely optional and exists purely to give you feedback on your own play; your individual results are never recorded in any identifiable way.

For educators: The Slingshot does not record which universities use it or who takes part in a class, and any class view is anonymous and aggregate. There is no personal-data collection and no individual tracking — only basic, cookie-free usage by time and broad location, which is how we know roughly how many people play and from which countries. All data is hosted in the EU (Frankfurt), and you can delete a session and its data at any time.
